Hysept is an antibiotic that fights bacteria. Hysept is used to treat or prevent infections caused by cuts or abrasions, skin ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, or surgery. Hysept may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide. You should not use Hysept if you are sensitive to chlorine products (such as bleach). You should not use Hysept if you are allergic to it, or if you are sensitive to chlorine products (such as bleach). FDA pregnancy category C. It is not known whether Hysept will harm an unborn baby.   • Signs of an allergic reaction, like rash; hives; itching; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin with or without fever; wheezing; tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.
  • Very bad irritation where this drug is used.
