Drug Information:
Equalactin is a bulk-forming laxative that increases the amount of water in your stools to help make them softer and easier to pass. Equalactin is used to treat constipation and to help maintain regular bowel movements. Equalactin may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide. Follow all directions on your medicine label and package. Tell each of your healthcare providers about all your medical conditions, allergies, and all medicines you use. You should not use Equalactin if you are allergic to Equalactin or to mineral oil, sodium laurel sulfate, or povidone (such as Betadine). Learn more

  • Signs of an allergic reaction, like rash; hives; itching; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin with or without fever; wheezing; tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.
  • Chest pain or pressure.
  • Upset stomach or throwing up.
  • Trouble swallowing.
  • Trouble breathing.
  • Belly pain.
